What’s Included
Rooted Curriculum is an emergent, literature based curriculum. Each module provides 4-6 weeks of curriculum and begins with an Anchor Book and a developmental focus, then helps teachers bring those ideas to life throughout the classroom.
1. Developmental Roadmap
Help teachers understand what children are working on—and how to support it.
The curriculum connects what children are working on with why it matters and what teachers can do to support development.
2. Classroom Environment Guidance
Bring the month's developmental goals into art, blocks, dramatic play, literacy, sensory experiences, outdoors, and more through environmental planning.
Teachers get ideas for materials and invitations, along with guidance about what children might do and how teachers can extend the learning.
3. Experience Cards
Give teachers plenty of ideas without giving them a rigid checklist.
Modules include experiences for choice time, small groups, Circle, movement, projects, outdoor learning, and more. Teachers are explicitly encouraged to choose what fits their children rather than complete every activity.
4. Family Resources
Save teachers time while strengthening the connection between home and school.
Each module includes ready-to-use resources that help families understand what children are working on and give them simple ways to support that learning at home.
5. A Flexible Framework
Give teachers flexibility in their approach and a framework that fosters creativity.
Rooted provides a developmental focus and sequence, but teachers can repeat experiences, move at different paces, and are encouraged to follow children's interests and needs.
